Why forced proximity works on the ice
A hockey season is basically a forced proximity machine. Teams travel together, share buses and hotels, and spend more time with each other than with anyone at home.
It pairs with almost everything. Enemies stuck in one room, a fake couple forced to share a bed, best friends who suddenly live together. That is why it shows up on more hockey romances than almost any other trope in our directory.
If you want the classic beat, look for the only-one-bed scene. Most of the books here have one, and the good ones make you wait for it.
